Your default trade size is the single most important setting in Cassie — it controls how much USDC the agent commits every time you mention @cassiedottrade under a market post. Getting this number right before your first trade means you won’t be surprised by a position that’s larger or smaller than you intended.

What the default trade size controls

Every mention triggers one trade. Cassie uses your default trade size as the USDC notional for that trade across whichever venue — Hyperliquid or Polymarket — best fits the signal. Counter and watch positions inherit the same size unless a future override is specified.

Preset options

During onboarding (Step 4 — Defaults) and in dashboard settings, Cassie offers four quick-select presets:
PresetBest for
$25New users testing Cassie’s signal interpretation
$50Default starting point for most traders
$100Moderate conviction, established workflow
$250High conviction, experienced users
You can also type any custom amount directly into the amount field. Cassie accepts any value that is a whole or decimal number.

Minimum trade size

The absolute minimum is *6USDC.Cassiewillrejectanyvaluebelowthisflooratthesettingslevelyoullseethemessage"Defaulttradesizemustbeatleast6 USDC**. Cassie will reject any value below this floor at the settings level — you'll see the message *"Default trade size must be at least 6.” if you try to save a smaller amount.
Start with $25 while you learn how Cassie reads tweet signals. You can always increase the default once you’ve seen a few trades execute and you’re comfortable with the agent’s interpretation of different market contexts.

Where to change your default trade size

1

During onboarding

On Step 4 — Defaults, select a preset or type a custom amount, then click Save & continue. This is the fastest path on first setup.
2

From the dashboard

After onboarding, open the Settings panel in the dashboard sidebar. Update the trade size field and save. Changes take effect on the very next mention.

How the default applies to each mention

You tweet: "@cassiedottrade trade this"

There is no per-mention override syntax today — every mention uses the default. If you want to adjust size for a particular trade, update the default before posting the mention, then change it back afterwards.

Wallet balance requirement

Your wallet must hold at least your default trade size in USDC for a trade to execute. If the available balance is below the default, Cassie skips the mention rather than trading a partial amount.
Cassie does not split a trade across multiple smaller executions. If you set a 100defaultbutonlyhave100 default but only have 60 in your wallet, the trade will not execute. Top up your wallet first.
